NATE LIEBERT

GUITARIST AND SONGWRITER

Nate Liebert

Is an NYC based guitarist and composer/arranger from Westchester, NY.

He started his journey with the guitar at age 10, raised by Alt Rock and Indie bands of the time such as Radiohead, Wilco and MGMT. He felt a peculiar magnetism towards any song that had layered guitar parts in harmony. To feed this fascination, Nate dug through his father's record collection and quickly discovered a myriad of famous and timeless jazz albums, which allowed him to fully taste the rich extended harmonic language he was craving. Before long, he spent every moment admiring and aspiring to the works of musicians such as Pat Metheny, Allan Holdsworth, Herbie Hancock, and anyone connected to them.

He graduated from SUNY New Paltz in 2019 with a BS in Jazz Performance for Guitar, studying under Mark Dziuba. After playing any and every hit in the Hudson Valley, he moved to Queens in 2022 and has since studied with Camila Meza, Matthew Rotker-Lynn, and Tak Iwasaki and is an active performer on the Jazz and R&B scene all around NYC. He has performed internationally in Bogota, Colombia with vocalist/guitarist Yerit Piñeda. His compositions and playing style blend his wide span of influences (Jazz, R&B, Rock, Hip Hop, Pop, Bossa Nova, etc) into a unique voice that is recognizably his own.
